Cork city centre
The city is the default destination and the only route with an official fare, about €20 on the meter for a 15-minute trip. For a solo traveller by day, the 226 bus is the cheaper option at roughly €2.20 to €2.80. For a group, at night, or with heavy bags, a taxi to the door is the simpler call.
Kinsale
The harbour town of Kinsale is about 21km away, 25 to 30 minutes by road. A taxi is the direct option, with an indicative fare in the region of €40 to €55. Usefully, the 226 bus continues from the airport towards Kinsale about once an hour, so there is also a low-cost public route if the timing suits.
Blarney and Cobh
Blarney, home of the castle, is about 15km and 20 minutes away, with an indicative taxi fare of roughly €30 to €40. Cobh, the harbour town on the coast, is about 25km and 30 minutes, indicatively €45 to €60 by taxi. Both are also reachable by taking the 226 into the city and connecting onward, Cobh being on the Irish Rail line from Kent Station.
Killarney, Limerick and Dublin
These are long trips. Killarney is about 87km (1h 15 to 25 min), and Limerick about 110km (roughly 1h 20 min); a taxi is possible but the metered fare runs to €150 or more, so onward coach or rail from Cork city is usually better value. Dublin, about 260km away, is really a coach trip: take the 226 into the city and an intercity coach such as Aircoach 704X rather than a very long taxi.
